I exhibited my latest work at this show at the Carnegie Gallery in Dundas. The show started on November 6 and went to November 29, 2009.

This show featured 26 artists from the Dundas area. The exhibited works are a collaboration where painters have chosen people who work in clay as their inspiration.

In these sculptures the interplay of light and dark becomes the relationship between inside and outside, sheltering and being sheltered. These forms further explore this theme as shelter evolves into restraint.

Pillows

Gise’s pillows are an intriguing exploration between the relationship between inner and outer space. They resemble a shape inviting one to rest one’s head.

The inner space evokes the secure dark feeling of a cavern or a womb while the shape of the opening plays against the overall form of the vessel.

The resulting effect invites a sense of discovery.
